Do not infer voltage compatibility, grounding, or insulation class from one familiar shape. A plug that will not fit is a compatibility question
Do not file the wider blade, cut off a ground pin, force the plug, or use a damaged adapter to make a connection. Identify the appliance requirements and the outlet condition instead. An older or damaged receptacle may need qualified assessment and an appropriate replacement, but that decision includes the existing wiring and applicable requirements.
