A brighter LED bulb can fail early inside an unsuitable enclosed fixture even though it uses fewer watts than the old incandescent lamp. LEDs and their electronics still produce heat, and that heat needs a suitable path out. Fixture compatibility is a thermal question as well as a socket and wattage question.
Efficiency does not remove every thermal limit
LEDs convert a useful share of their input into light, but the remaining losses heat the components. The driver electronics also dissipate power. Temperature at the LED junction and inside the driver can influence performance and aging. A bulb base that feels warm tells you little about the hottest internal component. Do not use a touch test as a rating check. The product must be designed and approved for the enclosure and operating conditions in which it is installed.
An enclosure changes the heat-removal path

Compare the actual watts, physical dimensions, and intended use. A lower-power compatible lamp or a different suitable fixture may meet the task better than forcing the brightest available bulb into the existing enclosure.
Lifetime is a system result
A lamp can stop working because of driver failure, connection problems, or other components before the LED emitters themselves reach a stated lumen-maintenance threshold. A long life claim therefore needs its test conditions and definition. Repeated early failure in the same location deserves a review of the fixture, control, supply, and environment. Do not assume that every failed bulb is a bad batch. Conversely, one failure is not enough to prove a thermal cause without considering the rest of the installation.
Use a compatible product without altering the fixture
Look for explicit suitability for the intended enclosed arrangement and follow any additional restrictions. Do not drill ventilation holes, remove protective covers, or modify a listed fixture to accommodate an unsuitable bulb. Turn power off and allow cooling before ordinary replacement, following the fixture procedure. Signs of damaged sockets, discoloration, unusual odor, or recurring faults need appropriate inspection. Record the bulb model and location so replacement decisions are based on the conditions that actually caused trouble.
